After showering and changing out of my AC/DC outfit — man do those school-boy shorts ride up on the second day — we headed to Asbury Park to check out the boardwalk and grab a bite to eat. After recreating the Father-Daughter dance scene from “the Wrestler” in the old Asbury Casino (Jeremy has two left feet) — we settled down to some fresh seafood at Rooney’s seaside restaurant.
When we returned from dinner she googled the website for entry details, while I enlisted the advice of my trusty Magic 8 Ball:
Me: “Should I, audition for Mad Men?”
*Magic 8-ball: CONCENTRATE AND ASK AGAIN*
Me: “Should I risk being ridiculed and enter the Banana Republic contest for a chance to appear on Mad Men?”
*Magic 8-ball: YES, DEFINITELY*
Me: “Am I going to be the next Don Draper?”
*Magic 8-ball: BETTER NOT TELL YOU NOW *
So far the Magic 8 ball has had me cross the PA – NY border three times, directed me to the AC/DC concert and now I’m entered into Banana Republic and AMC TV Mad Men Casting Call Contest … I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
Other Day 3– observations:
– Snoop Dogg is scheduled to play at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Thursday August 6th
– Calamari on Caesar salad is actually pretty good
